With main responsibilities being the mechanical operations of vessels, you'll maintain and control ship systems and operate machinery in senior positions.When the program and required sea-time are completed, you'll be eligible to write your engineering examinations and have credits up to the second-class level. This allows you to progress in the marine transportation industry to a senior position relatively quickly.You'll exit the program with a strong background in marine engineering technology. With real experience at sea, naval architecture and machinery maintenance, you'll quickly stand out from the competition.Skills and InterestsYou have a technical aptitude and ability to understand and troubleshoot the interconnected workings of complex machinery.Work EnvironmentOnshore and onboard marine vessels in engineering and technical positions around the world.Program Location:Marine Institute Campus, Ridge Road (St. John's)Program Length:Four yearsPractical Experience:Three technical sessions and 180 sea daysApplication Deadline:Fall Admission: April 15.
