This program offers a thesis option and a non-thesis option. The M.S. degree requires a minimum of 30 credit hours of acceptable graduate work, including nine credit hours of research for the thesis option or nine credit hours in an acceptable minor for the non-thesis option. Master's candidates can concentrate in mechanics and materials, thermo/fluids, energy, vibration/dynamics and manufacturing. They also can have approved and customized minors for the non-thesis option in subjects such as manufacturing management, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, bioprocessing, materials, solar energy, nuclear energy, and plastics.
