The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers programs leading to the Master of Science (MS), Master of Engineering (MEng), and PhD in mechanical engineering. Our curriculum includes theory, design and laboratory experience in the areas of thermal fluids, mechanics, dynamic systems, and design and materials. Our program seeks to train students to become future leaders of the industry. The MEng track prepares students for professional practice and requires no thesis or project. The PhD program is a research-intensive, multidisciplinary program. Funding is available in the form of teaching and research assistantships. Many of our assistantships include union and health benefits.
