Applicants should typically receive a minimum of 100 total for the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with preferred sub-scores of 26 (Reading), 26 (Listening), 22 (Writing), and 25 (Speaking). A score of 7.0 or higher on each band is expected on IELTS. A composite score of 120 or higher is expected for the DET with preferred.

As a mechanical engineering major, youll build competence in the analysis, design, and modeling of fluid and solid systems while developing social and economic context and the communication skills necessary to excel. Our graduates are a select group of science-oriented engineers who become leaders among their peers in the best graduate programs in engineering, science, medical schools, law schools, and in industry, government laboratories, and other organizations. The Mechanical Engineering department offers a combined five-year Bachelor's/Master's program for Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics majors.
