The master’s program is a broad-based curriculum designed to prepare students for advanced positions in the civil engineering industry, consulting and public agencies, as well as for advancing graduate studies. Students can choose a coursework-only option (30 course credits and a final exam), thesis (24 course credits 6 thesis credits) or project option (28 course credits 2 project credits) or pursue their degree online through the K-State global campus. The department offers comprehensive Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy programs in civil engineering. Active research programs are maintained in the areas of enrivonrmental, geotechnical, structural, transporationmaterials and water resources engineering, with the goal of integrating graduate study, research, teaching and engineering practice.
