课程简介
Graduate studies in engineering at the University of Hartford lead to the Master of Engineering (MEng). The program emphasizes applied design and stresses communication, which is very important for a successful career. The program, which offers specialty course work, applied mathematics, and engineering management, provides excellent preparation for an engineering career and for continued graduate study. Analysis and Definition of Complex Engineering Problems -
Students acquire the ability to analyze and solve complex engineering problems. Integration of class work and technical literature in a meaningful culminating project -
Students develop the ability to integrate the course work and available technical information into a meaningful culminating project. Proficiency in Written Communication -
The students develop the ability to write a clear and comprehensive report of their graduate project. Proficiency in Oral Communication - The students make an oral presentation. The audience including the faculty assesses the presentation.

Transportation engineering is the application of scientific principles and technologies to the planning, design, operation, and management of transportation systems for a full range of modes of transportation, e.g. highway, urban transit, air, rail and water, in order to provide for the movement of people and goods from one place to another in a safe and efficient manner. As a sub-discipline of Civil Engineering, this specialty is organized around society's need to provide an adequate transportation system and involves broad interaction with other disciplines.
