This certificate program provides professionals an opportunity to expand their knowledge base in the design and behavior of structural systems. It is designed for people who cannot make the full time commitment to the graduate degree program but would like to receive recognition of their continued effort in the area of study.<br>The graduate program in the Department of Civil Engineering provides students with opportunities to gain advanced knowledge, skills, and training to design, build, and maintain the foundation for our modern society. This includes our buildings, roads and bridges, drinking or wastewater and the environment, transportation and other civil engineering systems. Faculty and students conduct research projects that take on societies most pressing challenges. Students enhance their technical skills in civil engineering and create possibilities for future career advancement, and engineers currently working in the field will be able to apply what they learn in class to their work.
