In 2006, Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) became the first university in the world to create a Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering (EECE) by bringing together faculty involved in the interdisciplinary environment engineering science graduate program and the Department of Chemical Engineering. Our department is part of the WashU McKelvey School of Engineering. We contribute to solutions for the energy and environmental challenges around the world and focus on research and education in environmental engineering science, energy systems and chemical engineering. In addition to the accredited Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, another choice is to pursue the course of study leading to the Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (Chemical Engineering).
