For this degree program, the GRE admission requirement is waived through and including Fall 2023.<br><br>The Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatics Engineering offers a Ph.D. program with a focus in Transportation and Environmental Engineering that provides students with the knowledge and skills to address the great civil engineering challenges of our future in areas such as infrastructure, mobility, and environmental/water resources sustainability.<br><br>While in training, students will have the opportunity to conduct research and be exposed to the current state-of-the art in the discipline through externally funded projects. Students can focus on intelligent transportation, environmental engineering, geospatial intelligence, emergency management, smart cities, structures, and materials, as well as other civil engineering aspects. This Ph.D. degree provides a fundamental and applied research-based education that will make students competitive in the workforce, opening up doors to new job opportunities in research, academia, industry, or government.<br><br>The program requires 21 credits (coursework beyond the MS) and 21 credits of dissertation (3 of which can be taken as doctoral internships in industry or government agencies). Evenings, weekends, and online content is available. No GRE is required if the student graduated from an ABET-accredited engineering program, and CPT/OPT is available for international students.
