We accept applications from undergraduate majors in engineering. Degrees in the behavioral, physical and mathematical sciences are also welcomed.Grade Point Average (GPA) in previous academic programs: 3.0/4.0.
IELTS scores with an overall band score of at least 6.5. Minimum test scores for each section are listed below: Listening 6.5, Reading 6.5, Writing 6.5, Speaking 6.5
TOEFL with a total score of at least 80 on the Internet-based Test (iBT), and with minimum test scores for each section of: Listening 18 points, Reading 18 points, Writing 18 points.
Computer-based TOEFL scores must be 213 or higher (with at least 17 on three sections and no section score below 13). The paper-based test requires a score of 550 or higher (with scores of 50 on at least two of the three sections and no section score below 45).

The MIE is a professional degree that will prepare you to excel in a career in industry, government or consulting. It is a terminal degree perfect for self-supported, military, part-time and co-op students. Thus, it is not normal for MIE students to receive assistantship awards.<br><br>The graduate faculty of the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering supports academic and research interests in four areas: <br><br>manufacturing systems (manufacturing processes, medical device manufacturing systems, CAM, CIM, robotics, automation, rapid prototyping and concurrent engineering),<br>production systems (logistics systems, supply chain management, scheduling, inventory control, materials handling, facility design, furniture manufacturing and management, quality control, and engineering economics),<br>systems analysis and optimization (health systems, stochastic processes, simulation, mathematical programming, and soft computing), and<br>ergonomics (human performance, occupational safety, and biomechanics). The department faculty actively supports independent graduate degree programs in operations research, integrated manufacturing systems engineering, textile technology and management, and financial mathematics.
