After Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) certification you could be: chief engineers in 2nd class rated plants (power capacity rating of less than 10,000 kW) including food processing, oil and gas, power and pulp mill plants as well as hospitals, prisons and other institutions that use pressurized boilers shift engineers for 1st class rated plants (power capacity rating of greater than 10,000 kW) power engineer instructor You'll complete each of the 6 required Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) papers as modules. As a program graduate, you'll qualify for a 9-month steam time reduction to earn your ABSA certification faster. Meet with our academic advisor to discuss the options that align with your goals.
