Electrical Engineering is among the broadest of disciplines in that practicing EEs work on everything from high-power electric grids to low-power circuitry for smart devices and from medical instrumentation to fiber optics communications. As such, our general curriculum has a significant amount of flexibility enabling you to customize your experience to your interests. In addition, we have three interdisciplinary ''thEmEs'' that allow students focus their studies. Energy Systems: Explore the new frontier of alternative energy systems and smart-grid solutions. This interdisciplinary area parlays offerings from electrical engineering (energy generation, electromagnetics, power systems, etc.) and technical electives from mechanical engineering (thermodynamics and sustainable energy), policy, etc. Computer Systems: Your studies will leverage courses in mixed-signal design, embedded computing, programming, sensors, and wireless communications. Apply your knowledge to develop the next generation of personal computing devices, smart home product, or server system. Autonomous Systems: Leverage your studies in embedded systems, control systems, and signal processing to develop algorithms and technologies for intelligent and autonomous systems. Applications include aerial drones, satellites swarms, robotics, and human-machine interactions.
