A graduate program leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering is offered by the College of Engineering. The Associate Dean of Engineering for Research and Innovation is the Director of the program. Currently, the departments of Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering participate in the program. The general requirements for a Ph.D. in Engineering are the same for all departments. The focus of the program is to prepare students for a variety of electrical engineering careers, including circuit design and signal processing, communications and signal processing, devices and electromagnetics, mechatronics, digital systems, power, robots, automation and controls.
