First-time college applicants are required to graduate or have graduated from a foreign secondary school with an academic profile equivalent to that of a U.S. high school curriculum.
Graduate with the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.
When reviewing your application, Texas State will consider your high school curriculum, admission essay(s), extracurricular involvement, leadership, community service, work experience, quality and competitive level of courses taken and grades earned, in addition to other factors presented in your application.
We strongly encourage anyone who is not offered freshman admission to attend another college, complete 30 hours of transferable credit with a minimum GPA of a 2.25, and apply for transfer admission.

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a major in Electrical Engineering provides students with the background that is essential for the conception, design, development, and manufacture of electrical, electronic, computer, and information technology products and systems. Students may specialize in the areas of networks and communication systems, micro and nano devices and systems, or computer engineering. Proficiency in mathematics is especially important in Electrical Engineering. The B.S. with a major in Electrical Engineering and the B.S. with a major in Electrical Engineering with Computer Engineering Concentration are both accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. EE is the branch of engineering that deals with the technology of electricity, electromagnetism, and electronics.<br>The bachelor of science degree with a major in electrical engineering is designed to provide students with the mathematics, science, management, engineering and applications skills needed to work in various industries designing and producing electrical and electronic devices, systems and services. Electrical engineers also are involved in many large-scale multi-disciplinary projects in aerospace, automobiles, computer systems, construction, instrumentation, health services and other areas.
